As you know, recently I made a move to become dairy-free. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be to make the switch. Currently, I am still not 100% dairy-free. I still eat dairy chocolate, and pizza. Although the former is daily, the latter isn’t so frequent. I have completely stopped drinking cows milk and pretty much stopped eating cheese, but there are certain foods I am still consuming that do contain dairy.

My decision to go dairy-free was prompted by my sister and have been the best decision regarding specific types of pain I was having. One source of pain and discomfort has almost completely gone now, which is amazing, and as long as it stays under control, I will continue with my nearly dairy-free lifestyle. I honestly don’t think I could go back to cows milk even if I wanted to!

Mummy Meagz Dairy Free Chocolate

With that in mind, I was lucky enough to receive a hamper of yummy dairy-free goodies for Easter from Mummy Meagz.

Mummy Meagz dairy-free chocolate is a vegan-friendly brand that brings only the good stuff to their treats while making sure they are tasty. The journey began in 2003 in a small coffee shop in East Yorkshire by Meaghan and her daughter Willow. They were bringing vegetarian goodies to locals, and they made the change to fully vegan in 2016 before bringing their offerings to the nation from 2019 onwards.

Dairy-Free Chocolate for Easter

As I mentioned, I still do eat chocolate. It is akin to addiction at this point, and it would take something major to wean me off. But I was interested in trying dairy-free chocolate, and for most other foodstuffs, I opt for a dairy-free version these days. So when I was gifted some Easter goodies, I was curious as to how they would taste.

I received a Sunnycomb Bar, £17.99 for 12, two Chuckie Eggs, £12.99 for 6 and a Smoove Moove Chocolate Egg, £3.99 and Orange Choccie Egg, £6.99. I have to admit; I loved the Sunnycomb and Orange Choccie Bar that came with the Orange egg along with the Orange Egg itself. They didn’t taste like the dark chocolate I expected them too, and the orange flavour, which I usually avoid, was subtle, which I preferred. My sister would have liked a stronger hit of orange, though.

I didn’t quite find the Smoove Moove Chocolate Egg was a substitute for dairy chocolate. It lacked a creamy texture and taste for me personally, but it was still a nice eat and a great alternative if you aren’t as obsessed with chocolate like I am. The Chuckie Eggs were delicious. I am not a fan of Creme Eggs, so I definitely prefer these over the big brand version any day!

I was honestly quite impressed with the dairy-free chocolates I received. I didn’t think I would be own over by dairy-free chocolate, but on the whole, It is so much nicer than I thought it would be. Can it replace dairy chocolate for me? Not right now, but maybe in the future, it could be the way forward!
