Welcome to One Frazzled Fibro
So this is my very first post!
Welcome to my brand spanking new blog One Frazzled Fibro. As we are all new here, I best introduce myself and give you an insight as to why I have decided to start this blog.
I am Tracey and I have been blogging over at One Frazzled Mum for over 6 years now. I have been blogging so long I can barely even remember what it takes to get a new blog up and running. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in July 2019 and initially, I was going to incorporate it into One Frazzled Mum.
However I realised that it would swallow up my blog and honestly, it is such a jumble of different topics, I felt my ramblings on Fibro needed a dedicated space. So here we are.
My Fibro Journey.

After many years of GP appointments and tests, I finally found a sympathetic GP in my practice who was willing to add a Fibromyalgia diagnosis to my records. I am aware it isn’t usually that easy for many people but my GP was satisfied I wasn’t making it up, I wasn’t after a sicknote to be signed off work and that I simply wanted an answer.
The answer I got wasn’t going to give me any relief – there is currently nothing that will help me or alleviate my symptoms but it was all she could do.
I wrote about my initial diagnosis as I wanted to document my journey and my feelings on the day. It was a small blessing to finally have someone take me seriously. But in no way was it what I wanted to hear. It just meant I wasn’t going crazy and there was something legitimately wrong despite no tests showing anything at all.
And that is pretty much where I am today. No further, no changes nothing much at all.
One Year Later
Writing this blog and delving into this more, over a year later seems somewhat cathartic. Right now I still work in an employed job, I am self-employed meaning I write at my desk a lot. I have stopped my weekly Zumba classes due to my gym being closed thanks to COVID-19. I am getting back into my weekly Sunday walks – I will share these on my new @onefrazzledfibro accounts (search me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram on this username) and on my One Frazzled Mum accounts too.
I take Mirtazapine daily. I have recently upped my dosage from 15mg to 30 a day to help me sleep. I react badly to a lot of pain medication and I guessed that if I had to take something I wanted something that helped me to sleep. My theory being if I could get any sleep (even if it isn’t refreshing) and I could wor on my mental health, I could manage the bad pain days better. It works for me. After a short 10 day break of no medication following 6 months on the 15mg dosage, I realised, I needed the tablets a lot more than I thought I did.
And this leads me to now. Sitting at my desk, writing my first post for my new blog. Wondering how on earth I am going to find time to write up two blogs and update two sets of socials when I struggled with one set. The irony being the Fibro gives me so many more ideas for content, yet it takes away all the energy and brainpower I need to focus and work on building up a new blog!
For now, I will leave it here. This is my first “this is me” blog post. The start of a new path and a taster of what is to come. you can expect personal posts, informative posts and hopefully, reviews on all things associated with Fibro and living with chronic pain.
